The 1776 Signal — Support & PrivacyA privacy-first American news and history app. No accounts, no tracking, no data collected — ever.Getting HelpHave a question, found a bug, or want to suggest a source? Email us and we'll get back to you.Contact: [email protected]Common QuestionsA news source isn't loading.
Individual feeds occasionally go down on the publisher's end. Pull to refresh, or check that the source is enabled in Settings → Sources. If a feed stays dark for more than a day, let us know and we'll look into it.
How do I clear my data?
Everything the app stores lives on your device. Open Settings → Privacy & Sovereignty → Burn Cache to erase all cached articles instantly. Deleting the app removes everything.
What data do you collect?
None. The app has no accounts, no analytics, and no servers that receive your information. See the Privacy Policy below.
Does the app work offline?
The Daily Brief and Sovereign Library are fully offline. The news feed needs a connection to fetch fresh headlines, but your last-read articles remain cached.
Privacy PolicyLast updated: 7-18-2026The 1776 Signal is designed around a single principle: your activity is yours alone. We built this app to collect nothing, and it collects nothing.Information we collect: None. The 1776 Signal has no user accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, and no backend server that receives your data. How the app uses the network: The app fetches news headlines directly from publishers' public RSS feeds, and fetches its configuration file from a public GitHub Gist. These requests go from your device to those sources directly. They are subject to those third parties' own privacy practices, exactly as if you visited their websites in a browser. We receive nothing from them and send them nothing about you.Article reading: When you open an article, it loads in Apple's in-app Safari view. The publisher's site sees a standard web visit, the same as any browser. We are not involved in and do not observe that session.Data stored on your device: The app caches recent articles and your preferences locally on your device only. This never leaves your device, and you can erase it anytime with the "Burn Cache" button in Settings. Deleting the app removes it entirely.Children's privacy: The app collects no data from anyone, including children.Changes: Any updates to this policy will be posted on this page.Contact: [email protected]The 1776 Signal · All content stored locally on your device · No data collected · Ever.
